Prof.
Dr. Jai Rup Singh joined as the founder
Vice Chancellor of the Central University
of Punjab (CUPB) on 28th February 2009.
Prior to his joining this University,
he was Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev
University, Amritsar since July 2006.
Internationally recognized scientist,
Dr. Jai Rup Singh, is amongst pioneers
of human genetics in India. He has done
significant research on genetics of eye
diseases, diabetes and population disease
profiling. Following his strategy for
identifying candidate genes, his group
has localized several genes for congenital
cataract. He was visiting Professor in
many foreign universities; has delivered
over 60 invited talks internationally
and is represented on many national and
international academic bodies. He has
over 90 research publications. |
