In the
lap of nature, away from the city pollution and traffic
noises, 500 acres of land have been acquired by the
Government of Punjab for the Central University of
Punjab. Surrounded by lush green fields around this
area, the University’s site has some fruit gardens
within it, provides an excellent landscape with different
contours and varied levels which would be a type of
landscape that the architects love to have to develop
a conceptual design of a world class university.
Located at Ghudda
Village on the Bathinda-Badal road this Campus
of the University is ready for development. The land
is being transferred to the University. The electronic
topographical survey of the land has been completed
and the boundary of whole site has been demarcated
by concrete pillars. The architectural designs would
be finalized through global competitions. The construction
of the University buildings at the site is going to
be initiated this year.
The University is going to be developed as an environment
friendly green university. Its buildings would be
GRIHA IV compliant
and its designs would be having maximum utilization
of the sun energy. The existing traditional trees
of
Van
and Jand
would be preserved and extensive plantations of the
shady trees, shrubs, flowers, etc., would be undertaken.
